Cha's March 2013 Issue (#20) Launch Reading at AWP

There will be a launch reading for the March 2013 issue of Cha: An Asian Literary Journal at AWP. The event will be hosted by guest editors Kaitlin Solimine and Marc Vincenz and co-hosted by the Fairbank Center forChinese Studies at Harvard University.

Feature readings by past and current Cha contributors Eleanor Goodman, Bill Lantry, Kim Liao, Mai Mang (Yibing Huang), Tracy Slater, Marc Vincenz, and Nicholas YB Wong.

Cha - Call for Submissions - Issue #20 (March 2013)

Cha: An Asian Literary Journal is now calling for submissions for Issue # 20, scheduled for publication in March 2013.

Please send in (preferably Asian-themed) poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, reviews, photography & art for consideration. Submission guidelines can be found here. Deadline: 15 December, 2012.

Marc Vincenz and Kaitlin Solimine will act as guest editors and read the submissions with the editors. Please contact Reviews Editor Eddie Tay at eddie@asiancha.com if you want to review a book or have a book reviewed in the journal.

We love returning contributors - past contributors are very welcome to send us their new works.

Ricky Garni's new poems "The Really Lone Ranger" and "A Look Inside" are published in The Bakery yesterday and today respectively. You can also listen to Ricky's recordings of the two pieces on the Bakery website. Don't you think "A Look Inside" is very interesting? Where does Ricky get all these ideas? A third poem is forthcoming tomorrow.

Million Writers Award - Cha's Nominations

The Million Writers Award for the year's best online short fiction is now inviting nominations from readers, writers, and editors. The award is for any short story of at least 1,000 words first published in an online publication during 2011.

Kaitlin Solimine wins The International Literature Award

Congratulations to Cha contributor Kaitlin Solimine! She is the winner of DISQUIET 2012's International Literature Award. The award honours the best submission of work by a North American writer that 'broadens the landscape of American literature outside of the borders of North America.' Kaitlin's "American Nurse" is the winning entry and it will be published in Guernica. She will also receive airfare, accommodations, and a full tuition waiver to attend DISQUIET 2012 in Lisbon.
