Cha - Call for Submissions - Issue #25 (September 2014)

Cha: An Asian Literary Journal is now calling for submissions for Issue #25, scheduled for publication in September 2014.

Please send in (preferably Asian-themed) poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, reviews, photography & art for consideration. Submission guidelines can be found here. Deadline: 15 June, 2014.

Nicholas Y.B. Wong (poetry) and Rheea Mukherjee (prose) will act as guest editors and read the submissions with the editors. Please contact Reviews Editor Eddie Tay at eddie@asiancha.com if you want to review a book or have a book reviewed in the journal.

We love returning contributors — past contributors are very welcome to send us their new works.

Alison Wong

Alison Wong, a poet and novelist whose first novel As the Earth Turns Silver won the 2010 New Zealand Post Book Award for Fiction and selected by the New Zealand Listener and the Sunday Star-Times as one of the best books published in 2009, will be reading from her book and discussing it at the Hong Kong International Literary Festival next month. Alison's poem "There's Always Things To Come Back to the Kitchen For" was published in Issue #5 of Cha and discussed on A Cup of Fine Tea. Her As the Earth Turns Silver was reviewed in Cha.

Vinita Agrawal

Vinita Agrawal's poem "Nine-Bow Rain" is hotly available in Spark Magazine. Vinita's poem "Textile Homeland" and a review of The Poetry of Yoga were also published in Spark.

Bangalore Writers Workshop

Bangalore Writers Workshop (BWW), co-founded by Cha contributor Rheea Mukherjee, is the first Bangalore-based writing working. It aims at bringing a group of writers together and allowing them to study the craft of writing while simultaneously receiving constructive feedback on their own work. BWW runs intensive creative writing workshops with small groups in Bangalore. Our groups are fuelled by passion and the creative energy of people with diverse life experiences.
