Writers' Series, School of English, HKUSanaz Fotouhi is a writer/scholar whose interest lies in promoting and advocating cross-cultural understanding. Her short stories and poems, previously published in Hong Kong and Australia, focus on the same theme. She is currently working on her debut novel. Sanaz has also been involved in various film projects, including Producer for "Hidden Generation", a film that portrays women's self-immolation in Afghanistan. This film won the best theme award for women's issues at the Noor Film Festival in Los Angeles. Sanaz is also a PhD candidate at the Australian National University in Canberra. The title of her thesis is "Diasporic Post-Revolutionary Anglophone Iranian Literature".Time and PlaceDate: Tuesday, October 28, 2008
