Writer's Talk by Sanaz Fotouhi


Writers' Series, School of English, HKU
Sanaz Fotouhi is a writer/scholar whose interest lies in promoting and advocating cross-cultural understanding. Her short stories and poems, previously published in Hong Kong and Australia, focus on the same theme. She is currently working on her debut novel. Sanaz has also been involved in various film projects, including Producer for "Hidden Generation", a film that portrays women's self-immolation in Afghanistan. This film won the best theme award for women's issues at the Noor Film Festival in Los Angeles. Sanaz is also a PhD candidate at the Australian National University in Canberra. The title of her thesis is "Diasporic Post-Revolutionary Anglophone Iranian Literature".

Special Cha Edition -- Selected Works

We have selected 15 poems, 4 short stories, 1 piece of creative non-fiction and 4 sets photography to be featured in a special one year anniversary edition of Cha to be published on the Asia and Pacific Writers' Network website. This edition will be made up of the best work from the first five issues of Cha: An Asian Literary Journal. If your work is chosen, you should have received an email from us by now. We will post a link to the special Cha Edition on this blog when the edition is ready in December 2008.

Ken Kamoche is one of the authors featured in an exciting new anthology, One World: A Global Anthology of Short Stories. Writers are from all over the world.

Book description:

Mud Luscious 5


Issue #5 of Mud Luscious (editor: J. A. Tyler) is now available online. It includes works by tyler enfield, robert swartwood, joseph v. milford, david mcmullan, michael howarth, jayt catlin, robert aquino dollesin, jon longhi, earl j. Wilcox, & an excerpt from degenerescence, the forthcoming novel by james chapman.
